Kim Hyun-joong of SS501 and more famously for “Boys over Flowers” star, recently took part in the ‘COACH Taste Maker Tote Project’ charity auction event along with other celebrities such as Kim, Bum, Son Dambi, Kim Jun and 22 other celebrities.
With the support of the celebrities, the auction brought in approximately 8.5 million KRW (approximately $6,445 USD). But it was Kim Hyun-Joong’s creation alone that managed to rake in one-third of that amount 2.5 million KRW (approximately $1,894 USD). No matter how hot Kim Hyun-Joong is and even if it is limited to one piece, that is a LOT of money to pay for a cheesy canvas tote bag with a face drawn with a black sharpie marker. Good thing the funds raised are being used for a good cause and was donated to a children’s charity organization.
For those that are curious why Kim Hyun-Joong drew such a face on the tote bag, he stated, “Behind the glamorous image shown to the public is not only laughter, but also suffering and loneliness which I expressed through the congested eyes.”
