Mei Chan No Shitsuji Episode 5 Recap!
The episode begins from last week where all the girls warmly welcome Lucia to join their class, with exception to Izumi and Mei. Kento grumbles about the fuss for someone who is rejoining the class after taking time off but was reprimanded by the rest glorifying Lucia being the lady of ladies, and being a worthy heiress of Hongo family being so perfect.
Lucia tried to walk and head towards Mei. As she almost stumble and fell. Mei and Rihito both reach out but it was Rihito who manage to grab her and stabilise her. Mei look at them and was reminded of the previous scene at the green house where she witness Lucia hugging Rihito. Rihito told Lucia not to force herself but she smiled off saying the doctor encourage her to exercise more.
The white butler gave an evil smile and helped Lucia back to wheelchair, saying it is his hope that her health would get better. He looked at Mei with evil smile and added "Just like Mei who is also one of Hongo's potential successor." The whole class started murmuring in surprise, and Izumi started to understand the relationship dynamics.
Lucia pretend to be nice and reprimanded her butler not to say such things before the class. He apologised but added that since Lucia had returned to class, there was no reason to hide the truth anymore. At that, the evil white butler pretended to ask Rihito for agreement. He continued to taunt Rihito and spill out the secret that he was previously serving Lucia as his butler a year ago, much to frustration of Rihito and he turned around to look at Mei's reaction. The class started their own conjunction at this new piece of information while Kento stare at his brother.
While alone, Rihito worriedly tried to bring about his past serving as Lucia butler but Mei interrupted him shrugging it off that she knew about it and it doesnt matter. At that, 3 of Mei's classmate came in, and said they were disappointed in Mei for stealing Lucia's butler from her. Before they walk off, they told Mei she is a terrible person for hiding the truth from them.
Meanwhile, the Sole girls continue to plot against Mei and pressure Izumi to conduct a test within a week. They demanded that all those who fail has to drop out of school. Izumi retorted such a sudden rule is obviously overboard but she was warned by the Sole girl to watch what she said, and this new rule was instated to protect the reputation of the school since undeserving students should be eradicated and expelled!
On the other hand, Lucia acted friendly towards Mei and invited her to join the rest to have lunch at Lucia's place. However seeing the hostile looks on the girls, Mei wisely declined. Lucia fake disappointment.
While eating alone, Mei was suddenly joined by little girl Miruku. Miru explained she declined Lucia's lunch invitation as she didnt want to revolve around her. Also she detest person like her who exploit her butler to do mean things against others. Mei tried to explain that it was the white butler who said things off his own accord. Miruku muttered "You sure are retarded." Unknown to Miruku, her conversation was overheard by sneaky white butler who was spying on them. The while butler slink away when he saw Rihito had discovered him hiding behind the doors. Kento on the other hand was deep in thoughts by himself. When he was hassled by Ayoyama to return to hostel, Kento glared at Ayoyama and walked off, leaving Ayoyama in shock.
In class, Izumi handed Mei a stack of books and started ranting that Mei had to pass the test no matter what. Mei was overwhelmed by a furious Izumi. Kiba whispered and explained to Mei that the rest of the Sole girls are all working for Lucia. Izumi suddenly turned around and grabbed Mei, insisting that Mei must not lose this battle and Izumi herself will join in the fight! An overwhelmed Mei asked if it was THAT serious with a silly grin. Izumi started shaking Mei saying that Mei will be expelled at this rate! A fuming Izumi ranted further where exactly is Rihito at such a critical moment?!
Rihito was in class with the head mistress, asking her rationale for allowing Lucia to be in the same class as Mei since he had already explained the Hongo situation to her prior Mei's enrolment. The head mistress asked Rihito is it is such a shock for him that Mei found out that he was previously Lucia's butler? Rihito started saying that wasnt his question. The head mistress cheekily teased him that he didnt denied he was shock after all. She assured him Mei is fine and one looks forward to see how Mei deal with Lucia as her rival. Rihito explained Mei had never seen Lucia as rival despite being the true Hongo heiress. the head mistress laughed saying that was not what she meant. Just then, her butler informed her a group of man had gate crashed the school. The headmistress made a cute face and said she will pass such troublesome matter.
In the garden, Miruku and her butler Daimon were confronted by the gate crashers. They were informed that their daily matters will be evaluated as instructed by higher order. The evil white butler looked on from afar and grinned at the new problem.
Izumi was fussing about Mei's schedule. The 3 of them were interrupted by Daimon asking for Miruku's whereabouts. Izumi asked what had happened. Daimon was about to explain but was interrupted by Miruku's scream asking her captors to release her. All 3 were shocked and Daimon ran to her mistress.
Privately, Kento confronted his brother Rihito, asking to confirm if it was Lucia that has been creating troubles for Mei. Rihito told Kento to butt off. Kento revealed he overheard the conversation between the white butler and Mei, about the scheming to get Rihito back to Lucia.. Rihito kept quiet. Kento agitatedly grabbed his bro and said "What sort of S butler are you? It's all your fault that Mei is suffering! Why dont you just return to that woman? Just go back to her! Wont that be a perfect solution? After that, let me be Mei's butler instead. I will protect her. I will be better suited than you. Just ram this. The next time anything happens to Mei, I will not forgive you. I will definitely NOT forgive you!" At that Kento stormed off, leaving Rihito to his thoughts.
During revision for the upcoming test, Rihito revealed that Miruku with her exception IQ once worked for the national defence research department and Daimon was one of the men working there previously. Mei ram that the captors had warned them to stay away from MI17 and Rihito explained that could be miruku's codename.
Next morning, mei strolled into class and greeted a listless silent Miruku. Daimon her butler apologised explaining she didnt get much sleep due to work. Mei was surprised! During class, the men stopped Daimon from applauding Miruku's solution and even reprimanded she took too long to solve the problem. For days, Miruku was piled up with boxes of paper work and not allowed to have lunch, eating supplement tablets only.
Seeing how listless and depressed Miruku was, Mei finally stood up for her and asked the men not to bully Miruku. She then turned to Daimon stating that he should say something since he has a good relationship with Miruku. Daimon kept quiet. At this point, Rika told Mei she should worry more for herself and spend more time on her revision. Kento jumped in calling the men heartless and asking Miruku to take a rest being only a kid. Miruku instead reprimand Kento as being naive and mind his own business.
Alone with Rihito and Mei, Daimon explained that the organisation wants to prevent relationship to form between them, and for her to only obey orders from the dept. Mei was indignant that Daimon is not protesting but he explained both himself and Miruku are bearing with it till the guys return back to the org. Rihito explained to Mei that both of them are able to understand with their hearts hence the tolerance. Mei however said she saw how Miruku wish someone could help her. "How could one sever bonds so easily?" mei asked aloud. Rihito looked at her.
Mei excused herself to grab something from class. After she left, the evil white guy appeared and motioned Rihito to go outside.
In the class, Kento tried to stick up for Miruku but was manhandled by one of the guys. Miruku finally threw a book at the guy and was told she finally make a mistake. The girl yelled she is not a tool and ran off.
Alone, the white guy told Rihito his brother is interesting, not even hiding his liking for Mei despite the school ban, even thinking of becoming Mei's butler. Rihito asked what is he trying to say. White guy with evil grin asked Rihito hasnt he noticed Mei's affection for him? "you are an S rank butler. You know of ways to stop her from developing feelings for you but why didnt you? Have you injected your personal feelings instead of being a butler? not replying me? Then let me let u something interesting. Mei saw you at the greenhouse and how Lucia begged u." The evil butler laughed as he said it. "Her expressions then, was truly interesting" White guy continued grinning. Rihito lost his cool and grabbed him.
"Is the person hurting her myself, or you?" White guy asked as he flung Rihito's hands off. "If you are getting mad as a butler, compared to your brother that is so boring. However if u are mad as a person, as a guy, then you truly are not fit to be a butler!" The white guy taunt Rihito. "i look forward to seeing what u would do." With that, the white guy smile victoriously and left Rihito speechless.
Meanwhile, Mei and Kento helped Miruku escaped school and went back to her hometown. While Miruku was asleep, Mei said she doesnt care the punishment but she just doesnt want to see Miruku and Daimon get separated.
The next day, while all the butlers are fretting in one room, Izumi was handing out petition to the girls, asking for their signature to request the Sole girls to retract punishment for Mei. The girls were reluctant saying they didn’t want to incur wrath of the Sole girls. Izumi explained they are classmates, and Mei is trying her best to help Miruku. Rika reject the idea to help but Izumi reminded her that it was Mei who had helped both of them after they lost the duel challenge.Izumi continued that Mei did not deliberately hide her identity and her efforts were witnessed by all. So the girls should stop picking on Mei.
A depressed Damion reread the note Miruku left for him, thanking him for his company up to now.
Miruku went crazy when she was let loose in a theme park. Kento decided to join in. Mei tried to convinced Miruku to return to school but she refused. Wont Daimon be worried Mei asked. "Perhaps, but we will no longer see each other again." Miruku replied.
The org men informed Daimon Miru's whereabouts is found and she will be brought back to the organisation. Daimon tried to protest but the man informed him to stay put before he receive his punishment.
" I went to the org at 3yrs and only addressed by codename and used as tool. i stopped believing in adults until Daimon, who was the only one who addressed me by my name. Only him who treat me as a person, as a child. he is my family. But I know he will leave me one day. So its alright. Daimon will be better away from me. So I am giving him up." Miruku shared to Mei at the aquarium.
Mei rebate and reprimanded her for pretending all is alright and if she is silly. Miruku started crying and yelled at Mei for not understanding! But Mei retorted that she does, "
always worrying about when one could see another person, the feelings of wanting to give up when all alone. I do understand. But all is over if u give up now. U want to be with him doesn’t you? to be with Daimon. So fight with all your might. Stay strong. Don’t give up! “Mei said. Kento listened on looking thoughtful.
"To think I said I will always accompany her." Daimon shared to Rihito. Rihito suddenly ram everything he had said to Mei, about always by her, not disappointing her, and their shared moments in all those challenges. He stood up suddenly with new resolve. The rest of the butler tried to stop Rihito and Daimon saying it will be worse if they both leave, and butlers who inject personal feelings will not end well. Suddenly they heard Rihito yelled for them to make way! "I am going to where Mei Sama is!"
The head mistress was informed of Rihito and Daimon's action to rush to their mistress. She then looked at an old letter and Mei's family photo when she was 2yr old, exclaiming these 2 women (referring to Mei’s mum and mei) have the power to make a man be so determined about their decision, following their hearts. Meanwhile on their escape, Daimon and Rihito is confronted by Lucia in wheelchair waiting in the garden. She told Rihito, "You cannot save her its too late now. However Rihito Sama, If it is me, I can save her, only if u are willing to return to my side."
AT the theme park, the swat like team masked soldiers arrived. Kento tried to fight them. Daimon appeared at nick of time to save Miruku. The men demanded Miruku to leave Daimon or they will shoot. Daimon refused to let go as he always want to be by her side. Miruku was touched to tears. Before the guys prepare to shoot, Kento stood before Mei saying he will protect her.
Between Lucia and Rihito in the garden.
He rejected her, saying he is Mei's butler and rushed off.
Rihito rushed to the park, relieved to see Mei well and alone. He apologised for being late but Mei reassured him all is fine. The men suddenly left for no reason Mei told Rihito.
"Why are my hands starting to shake now? How strange. Perhaps I feel at ease now." Mei said with a dazed smile. At hearing that, Rihito stepped forward and hugged Mei from the back. Mei was too stunned to move. Rihito suddenly come to his senses and apologised. Kento came back and found Mei stoned. and his brother bowing and apologised. He sensed something was amiss.
In school, Lucia pretended to be nice to Miruku but she told Lucia to stop being a fake. She said she hacked into the defence system and found that it was Lucia who had ordered the men to come and attack her. "You sure like to use people. However, we will not be your puppets." Miruku glared at her and left.
In the room, Miruku was teaching Mei. Rihito arrived and both were strange..
On the other hand, the 2 psycho bitch and butler were hatching a new plot. The white guy said they cannot expel Mei in order to get Rihito back to Lucia. "Then use this" Lucia said. "Mei's weakness is Rihito and vice versa. It's time to be despicable, even if it means hurting Rihito, I must get him back!"
