MC MONG- INDIAN BOY MV
MC Mong is back and he doesn’t care who he “offends.”
Armed with bows and arrows, feathers, ponchos, tepees, hooting, and grunting, MC Mong is ready to bring some light-hearted “cultural” fun to the summer music scene. Although this isn’t the best sounding song, “Indian Boy” is energetic and catchy.
A lot of overly sensitive netizens are in a frenzy about MC Mong’s stereotypical portrayal of an “Indian,” while most people couldn’t care less because you can’t take MC Mong seriously anyways.
Personally, they could have saved themselves some “controversy” if the song was just titled “Lost Boys” from the tale of Peter Pan because this execution of the concept, especially with the little kid thrown in there, fits that really well.
Either way, here is the “Indian Boy” MV. Who knew football had anything to do with Indians?

Hana Kimi Special
So I just finished watching Hana Kimi Japan Special, I quite enjoyed it alot. Masao was hilarious with his english. Julia also had me laughing at moment, but I do have to say that it was quite confusing at time when they were doing flash back and stuff. Oguri´s haircut was "special". But my favorite moment would be the Namba-sempai moments he always had me laughing so hard.

My Name Is Kim Sam-soon (aka My Lovely Sam-soon), the super-popular 2005 drama that made Kim Sun-ah and Hyun Bin into household names, is being given the Hollywood treatment and remade as a U.S. television series. Hopefully Sam-soon will meet with better success as a remake than other Hollywoodified versions like My Sassy Girl and Il Mare (as The Lake House).
NBC will be producing the series as a prime-time drama, casting has been completed, with the script is in the revision process. Production is scheduled to begin early next year.
A few notes on the U.S. television process: just because a drama has entered production does NOT mean, as it does in Korea, that it will definitely air. The pilot will need to be shot, after which point the network can decide whether or not to order more episodes. If it dies in that stage, we’ll never see it, and if it proceeds, it will usually be given an initial 13-episode order, or half a season. (If the ratings are good, the back 9 episodes will usually be ordered to finish out the season. If ratings are bad, the series may be canceled at any point, whether or not all the produced episodes have been aired. There’s always a small chance that the drama will be picked up to series but canceled before any episodes air.)
Also, I actually heard about this a few months ago (in an unofficial capacity), and if the people involved in this remake are who I think they are, there’s a chance this series may turn out decently well. Also, considering that Samsoon was compared a lot to Bridget Jones’s Diary, the inherent premise of the series is one that translates well to Western audiences.

buzzer beat episode 1 summary
The first 15 mins were ok. The basketball match wasnt really exciting. Maybe i am in a foul mood so I wasnt very drawn in. Plus I thought it was a little flaky.. if u watched enough NBA, you will know what I mean. And I thought Aibu Saki (as Nanami Natsuki) dressed in that cheerleading top looked hideous. It doesnt match her appearance. I cannot convincingly believe she is a cheerleader, her appearance just doesnt cut it, or maybe its just her top...its a turn off for me. Plus she is playing the role of Kamiya naokigf...no way. they dont look good together at all to me..she is too cutesy and his more manly appeal doesnt look compatible.
The next scene when Naoki was chasing after the bus for his dropped mobile was quite funny. I was laughing so hard when the girls were chatting about Riko was sharing to her gf about her mistake of stepping into a guy's toilet, and say this guy putting on foundation. The two started to talk about how disgusting it is about the man manicuring their eye brows etc these days... and about man with 1,2,3,4,5,6 packs...all these while Naoki was desperately chasing the bus. Its funny because what the girls said are so relevant to the current society of japanese boys where they really pluck their eyebrow more diligently than the girls. The script writers is making a light mockery of the extreme behaviour of the young men in Japan and the way its presented was sheer humour for me.
Anycase, this mobile incident marks the start of the destiny between the two.
The 2 girls was strolling waiting for the 'owner' to come pick up the phone. again, riko's friend is quite funny. assuming Naoki is a uni grad student, she said she is not interested anyway since man of all brawn from sports dept will not suit arty farty faculty girl like her. haaa riko said she dont think he is a bad person from the cute picture on the phone. An incoming call came and it was the coach. As they passed the phone over, a chemistry seemed to ignited between the 2. As they were departing, a firework display started and they turned to look at each other. with that, the coach mustered his courage and asked if they could give him a number for future contact. the girls obliged. Meanwhile on the other end, Naoki and Nanami were also watching the fireworks. kamiya told Nanami if the team won the season, he is asking for her hand to marry him. she nodded and said yes, but only if the team win. Naoki was able to kiss her but she stopped him, because the rest of the team were standing by watching and they surrounded them to cheer them on. at the celebration, the coach turned up and pass the phone to naoki and thanked him as he winked. naoki was mystified.
Narration
"At that time, both of us were unaware that the ball of destiny has already started to "bounce'.
Playoff - the 2 battle
Naoki's team lost.
The team was told they will rest for a month, and also contract and pay negotiation for the next season. With that their 2008 competition season came to an end. Naoki sat in the changing room alone staring at the proposal ring, before snapping the box shut.
A new morning, naoki rode off to discuss the new pay. his mum and sister were discussing about him and his gf. his mum was musing about how smart, nice, pretty nanami the gf is but his sister lament she doesnt really like nanami as she is too overly perfect..'which is why she is perfect for naoki' the mum interjected.
at the basketball company, naoki was shocked to discover a decrease in the new pay. the boss said it cannot be helped as there wasnt much prize winnings and the company is not doing great, and they will not stop naoki from going for other company options. naoki said he will need to reconsider the offer.
alone, naoki was sharing with his gf at how his earning has dropped from 450 to 315 man yen from previous pay. the gf assured him it was ok and no rush to get married and she would still
be by his side.
after explainin she was busy with work and unable to spend time for dinner together, naoki left. while waving him off with a smile, the gf started to grumble to herself 'someday, someday, its always that. yet he is still behaving like a kid. ' with a big sigh, she turned and left. naoki on the otherhand, was telling himself how sweet his gf is, and it almost make him feel bad...
'what i want is not your cooking.' nanami lamented to herself as she is alone.
at the bath. the coach joined naoki. he commented 'it sure is pathetic to have 2 grown man soaking in a pink strawberry bath.' before stepping into the bath.
after the bath and while strolling, the coach said naoki has the looks and if he does well, he will gain much recognition in japan. however for some reason, naoki always falter at the crucial moment. naoki said he knew he is not that strong yet, but he is not lacking confidence. with all the taller and even better player, naoki shared he knew he had been too proud in the past. the coach comforted him that there is nothing wrong. pride is an attribute of youth. naoki lamented he is getting old even though the coach said not really at 24yr.
naoki continue to share his dream, which was originally intended to buy a house for his parents, support his sister to uni, getting married and have kids with nanami, to watch him play hsi game.
however he is panicking that nothing is happening yet and how weak he is.
'forget it, men is nto as strong as he think he is'
the coach encouraged him and told him never to let girls see him in this emotional state he revealed now.
meanwhile, the coach made his move on riko at the bookstore she worked.
he initated to date her, seeing she looked troubled, the coach added he will of course asked riko's friend mami along and he would asked someone else. with that riko agreed. the coach left. mami appeared laughing away. she said she suspected all along the coach only had eyes for riko. mami grinned evily and pondered aloud 'should i tell him that riko sleep with her bra thrown onto the floor at night..' riko held her back and tried to distract her saying she was too happy over the moving in celebration...
meanwhile, naoki was playing ball and saw a beautiful sunset and has been a while since they met, with that he wrote a nice sms with pic to nanami but she totally was unappreciated and grumbled he could just make a call.
the boss introduced a new guy that is jjoining the team. as nanami was explaining details to him, he asked for her size which she tried to brush it off. he asked if she is attached. she said yes and its none of his business. 'however you are dissatisfied' he said. nanami froze in her track and look at him, 'its written all over your face' the new guy said and walked off.
at the basket ball club, naoki was shocked to learn that he is only of 15 man en higher than junpei. 'i cannot believe i am only 15 man en difference from this fatty meat' to which junpei protested and started to flex himself at the mirror...[quite funny here] naoki took off his top and said a pro should have a body like his and flex his abs. naoki's team mate then asked 'hey naoki, your chest looks bigger than your gf..' 'never compared' naoki replied. the men started stripping and comparing amongst themselves..
at the court, the coach intro the new guy. the new guy insulted naoki saying he doesnt seem as good as before and then challenge the guys to a 1 on 1 match. naoki lost the challenge. the new guy told naoki is useless to have confidence without skills to match and off he walked saying he has other offers to consider.
riko was proposed to 'audition' for a group violin by this sucessful musician, only to find out the lecherous guy only wanted her to strip. he never told she was any good in her music...angered, riko slapped her idol and left. at the bookstore, the coach appeared and passed her 2 tickets for her and mami to join him and his friend/
naoki gf called to tell naoki that she is having dinner with the boss, and the new guy as they really want to sign him on. nanami said the coach will be coming and asked naoki to join but he declined. nanami frankly told him he should in case other baseketball team doesnt contact him to shin him up, at least he still have this team. even if it hurt his pride to hear this, she said she prefer he stayed to fight on. and she wont be lonely. naoki declined and nanami stared at the phone andfrowninly said to herself 'this guy is really...' before pretending her fake smile to the rest.
brooding at the park alone, nanami tried to call naoki but he was cycling. the new guy approached nanami and commented she is not as good agirl as everyone thinks she is, so what she asked. 'i'm a bad woman. so what. not for a stranger to criticise' as she walked away, the guy grabbed her and said 'nope, i think u suit me just fine.' and forcefully kissed her . before long, she melted and willingly reciprocate. at that naoki unknowingly cycled past them. naoki asked to continued to be signed on and later tried to reach his gf but no answer.
as naoki went to the court near his house, he saw riko playng away. when she finished he clapped. as she was wrapping up and gave naoki the court back, she turned ard and saw him accurately shooting all his balls into the net and was impressed. riko praised him 'beautiful pose. beautiful rythm. its the first time i think guys are beautiful. i admire you.' a surprised naoki nodded his thanks. at that riko exclamed if they have met before..but he said no
just as riko was leaving, naoki thanked her. and said he was extremely happy to a puzzle riko.
'you praised my basketball skill.' he explained. riko smiled. she said she was happy too when he clapped his hands.
riko asked if he was a pro player. naoki said yes but a sucky one with no fans. riko looked put out at this confession. then they both started to laugh. riko surprised naoki by taking a step forward, grabbing him by his shoulder and urge him to work harder even if not easy. 'and let me be your first fan.' riko smiled and said.
next morning
nanami was buttoning up her top and left the new guy's place.
the coach was determined to persist to the end in his pursuit of riko
riko woke up to the sound of basketball and happily cheered naoki on from her room.

The 2 girls was strolling waiting for the 'owner' to come pick up the phone. again, riko's friend is quite funny. assuming Naoki is a uni grad student, she said she is not interested anyway since man of all brawn from sports dept will not suit arty farty faculty girl like her. haaa riko said she dont think he is a bad person from the cute picture on the phone. An incoming call came and it was the coach. As they passed the phone over, a chemistry seemed to ignited between the 2. As they were departing, a firework display started and they turned to look at each other. with that, the coach mustered his courage and asked if they could give him a number for future contact. the girls obliged. Meanwhile on the other end, Naoki and Nanami were also watching the fireworks. kamiya told Nanami if the team won the season, he is asking for her hand to marry him. she nodded and said yes, but only if the team win. Naoki was able to kiss her but she stopped him, because the rest of the team were standing by watching and they surrounded them to cheer them on. at the celebration, the coach turned up and pass the phone to naoki and thanked him as he winked. naoki was mystified.
Narration
"At that time, both of us were unaware that the ball of destiny has already started to "bounce'.
Playoff - the 2 battle
Naoki's team lost.
The team was told they will rest for a month, and also contract and pay negotiation for the next season. With that their 2008 competition season came to an end. Naoki sat in the changing room alone staring at the proposal ring, before snapping the box shut.
A new morning, naoki rode off to discuss the new pay. his mum and sister were discussing about him and his gf. his mum was musing about how smart, nice, pretty nanami the gf is but his sister lament she doesnt really like nanami as she is too overly perfect..'which is why she is perfect for naoki' the mum interjected.
at the basketball company, naoki was shocked to discover a decrease in the new pay. the boss said it cannot be helped as there wasnt much prize winnings and the company is not doing great, and they will not stop naoki from going for other company options. naoki said he will need to reconsider the offer.
alone, naoki was sharing with his gf at how his earning has dropped from 450 to 315 man yen from previous pay. the gf assured him it was ok and no rush to get married and she would still
be by his side.
after explainin she was busy with work and unable to spend time for dinner together, naoki left. while waving him off with a smile, the gf started to grumble to herself 'someday, someday, its always that. yet he is still behaving like a kid. ' with a big sigh, she turned and left. naoki on the otherhand, was telling himself how sweet his gf is, and it almost make him feel bad...
'what i want is not your cooking.' nanami lamented to herself as she is alone.
at the bath. the coach joined naoki. he commented 'it sure is pathetic to have 2 grown man soaking in a pink strawberry bath.' before stepping into the bath.
after the bath and while strolling, the coach said naoki has the looks and if he does well, he will gain much recognition in japan. however for some reason, naoki always falter at the crucial moment. naoki said he knew he is not that strong yet, but he is not lacking confidence. with all the taller and even better player, naoki shared he knew he had been too proud in the past. the coach comforted him that there is nothing wrong. pride is an attribute of youth. naoki lamented he is getting old even though the coach said not really at 24yr.
naoki continue to share his dream, which was originally intended to buy a house for his parents, support his sister to uni, getting married and have kids with nanami, to watch him play hsi game.
however he is panicking that nothing is happening yet and how weak he is.
'forget it, men is nto as strong as he think he is'
the coach encouraged him and told him never to let girls see him in this emotional state he revealed now.
meanwhile, the coach made his move on riko at the bookstore she worked.
he initated to date her, seeing she looked troubled, the coach added he will of course asked riko's friend mami along and he would asked someone else. with that riko agreed. the coach left. mami appeared laughing away. she said she suspected all along the coach only had eyes for riko. mami grinned evily and pondered aloud 'should i tell him that riko sleep with her bra thrown onto the floor at night..' riko held her back and tried to distract her saying she was too happy over the moving in celebration...
meanwhile, naoki was playing ball and saw a beautiful sunset and has been a while since they met, with that he wrote a nice sms with pic to nanami but she totally was unappreciated and grumbled he could just make a call.
the boss introduced a new guy that is jjoining the team. as nanami was explaining details to him, he asked for her size which she tried to brush it off. he asked if she is attached. she said yes and its none of his business. 'however you are dissatisfied' he said. nanami froze in her track and look at him, 'its written all over your face' the new guy said and walked off.
at the basket ball club, naoki was shocked to learn that he is only of 15 man en higher than junpei. 'i cannot believe i am only 15 man en difference from this fatty meat' to which junpei protested and started to flex himself at the mirror...[quite funny here] naoki took off his top and said a pro should have a body like his and flex his abs. naoki's team mate then asked 'hey naoki, your chest looks bigger than your gf..' 'never compared' naoki replied. the men started stripping and comparing amongst themselves..
at the court, the coach intro the new guy. the new guy insulted naoki saying he doesnt seem as good as before and then challenge the guys to a 1 on 1 match. naoki lost the challenge. the new guy told naoki is useless to have confidence without skills to match and off he walked saying he has other offers to consider.
riko was proposed to 'audition' for a group violin by this sucessful musician, only to find out the lecherous guy only wanted her to strip. he never told she was any good in her music...angered, riko slapped her idol and left. at the bookstore, the coach appeared and passed her 2 tickets for her and mami to join him and his friend/
naoki gf called to tell naoki that she is having dinner with the boss, and the new guy as they really want to sign him on. nanami said the coach will be coming and asked naoki to join but he declined. nanami frankly told him he should in case other baseketball team doesnt contact him to shin him up, at least he still have this team. even if it hurt his pride to hear this, she said she prefer he stayed to fight on. and she wont be lonely. naoki declined and nanami stared at the phone andfrowninly said to herself 'this guy is really...' before pretending her fake smile to the rest.
brooding at the park alone, nanami tried to call naoki but he was cycling. the new guy approached nanami and commented she is not as good agirl as everyone thinks she is, so what she asked. 'i'm a bad woman. so what. not for a stranger to criticise' as she walked away, the guy grabbed her and said 'nope, i think u suit me just fine.' and forcefully kissed her . before long, she melted and willingly reciprocate. at that naoki unknowingly cycled past them. naoki asked to continued to be signed on and later tried to reach his gf but no answer.
as naoki went to the court near his house, he saw riko playng away. when she finished he clapped. as she was wrapping up and gave naoki the court back, she turned ard and saw him accurately shooting all his balls into the net and was impressed. riko praised him 'beautiful pose. beautiful rythm. its the first time i think guys are beautiful. i admire you.' a surprised naoki nodded his thanks. at that riko exclamed if they have met before..but he said no
just as riko was leaving, naoki thanked her. and said he was extremely happy to a puzzle riko.
'you praised my basketball skill.' he explained. riko smiled. she said she was happy too when he clapped his hands.
riko asked if he was a pro player. naoki said yes but a sucky one with no fans. riko looked put out at this confession. then they both started to laugh. riko surprised naoki by taking a step forward, grabbing him by his shoulder and urge him to work harder even if not easy. 'and let me be your first fan.' riko smiled and said.
next morning
nanami was buttoning up her top and left the new guy's place.
the coach was determined to persist to the end in his pursuit of riko
riko woke up to the sound of basketball and happily cheered naoki on from her room.

It would be called “Attack of the 18 Pin-Up Boys.”
Rumor has it that SM Entertainment’s big guns may be collaborating on a movie together. The film will allow all thirteen members of Super Junior to showcase what little acting ability they can muster, just like in the amusing self-indulgent 2007 film, “Attack of the Pin-Up Boys.” This sounds like something Kim Ki-bum would actually take the time out of his “busy” schedule to join the group to do.
Although everything is in the “top secret” phase, it is said that this would also feature Dong-Bang-Shin-Ki as “guest stars” in this film about life in the city. With eighteen big stars, a plausible format could be that SM give each member a five minute vignettes that all somehow interconnects with one another and that would make an hour and a half movie.
It is safe to say that if this thing were to happen at all, this wouldn’t hit the screen until at least the 2011. Then the world can end in 2012, and your life would be complete after seeing this movie.

Ft Isand New Grease Look
5 member of idol band FT Island introduced their Musical ‘Grease’ concept from their new album.
Looking handsome yet cute with the ‘jeans look’ concept, the picture shows how the member has changed in terms of music style and fashion style. In the new album, the boys brought back the ‘retro style’ from the 80’s.
The new album’s musical style also changed from their previous music sheets, as they are now more open to various music style from ballads to addictive songs. Their new album titled ‘Cross & Change‘ is giving the fans a more mature side w/ more upgraded skills from the group.
Meanwhile, FT Island on July 16, will release its Full album of a 12 songs and at the same time the Full version MV will be release on various online music sites. They boys will kicked off their 3rd album activities on July 19,2009 at SBS Inkigayo Show.

I am a little disapointed due to the fact that Jun isnt going to be in the movie of Gokusen I was really looking for to it since he was in the first season of Gokusen.

Far Away Mv
R. Tripper, a new group featuring members Joey and W.Dop released their new mv for their first single titled "Far Away." The Music Video is nothing special, it just features them dancing with a girl randomly thrown in there. However the music itself is pretty good, a nice mixture of rapping from Joey and pretty good vocals from W.Dop. Q1. 2 - 30-31 March
Aiba: In 2002, Arashi was chosed to be the tourism ambassador of Hawaii, and we did a fan event in Hawaii. At that time, just for that year, Hawaii made those days Arashi Day!
Q2. 1- Ashita ni Mukatte
Matsumoto: This was a song I sang often in my Jr. days, and I’ve also sang it in the show where I was a regular, “8ji da J” Come to think of it, the fathers in that show also taught me the movement.

Sakurai: It happened that when we were doing our photo shoot, the director was in a studio next door editing Yatterman, and he came to see us during his break. At that time, I introduced the director to the other Arashi members and vice versa (laughing).

Matsumoto: My family was planning to go to Niigata for holiday, but couldn’t go in the end because of some reason. So we finally went the year after. We played bowling there. And the scores had to be hand-written at that bowling alley, so I thought Niigata was a fun place.

Matsumoto: It was during my 2nd year of senior high school. Accidentally everything I studied came out in the exam. I don’t know why I told the agency about it, but they were all so happy about it that the faxed my exam paper to Mori Eiko-san (laughing)
Q11. 1 – Went to eat with a friend
Matsumoto: It so happened that an acquaintance of mine was nearby, so we went to a Japanese restaurant together. We had chawan mushi, bamboo shoot rice and such, it was a really delicious meal.
Q12. 1 – Books about rakugo
Matsumoto: I saw the recommendation in a newspaper, so I bought a book by Tachikawa Shiraku-san. Lately, I have been filming in a bookshop, so when there is a break, I would be browsing the books there.

Ohno: I will never forget this date. My audition was a rehearsal at TV Asahi. I didn’t want to go but my mom said, “You won’t get accepted anyway” so I thought, “That’s right” and went.

Ohno: When I said, “I’m type A”, everyone gets surprised and goes “Eee~h?” Well, I myself think I’m not very type A anyway (laughing).

Ohno: 6 of them were presents (laughing). Because when you’re in the middle of fishing, and the line snaps, it’s quite a waste of time to change it, so I prepare several poles in advance. I also change the pole I used depending on what kind of fish it is.

Ohno: I went fishing yesterday too. I caught a seabass there, and the ship’s captain cooked it on the spot. It was super tasty! The best thing about fishing is to be able to eat a freshly caught fish like this!

Aiba: My toenails are like that. It’s not painful or inconvenient, that’s just the way they are.

Sakurai: Lately, before I go to work, I always have to drop by. At the store, I will buy things like drinks or fruits or a vegetable salad. Since I go there so often, I even have a point card there now (laughter)

Sakurai: I read 2 general newspapers and 1 sports newspapers. For the general newspapers, first I will check the headlines. And then I will check the 2nd one to see if it carries the same news, so that will be the big news for that day, and then I will start reading from that article. Usually I will read everything. But, I get surprised sometimes when I am reading a newspaper, and there’s a news about myself (laughter)
Q22. 3 – Yatterman no Uta 2009
Sakurai: This is my main song for incoming mail. If it’s a mail from an Olympic athlete, it’s set to Kaze no Mukou E. But when it rings in the taxi or something like that, I get so embarrassed! (laughter)

Ninomiya: I bought an external hard disk for gaming. This way, I can save the data of the games I played in the hard disk, but the capacity is 600 GB. That’s 30 times the space I need for my games, so I feel safe (laughter)

Ninomiya: I’ve accumulated a lot of game softwares, so I’ve started recycling them. I recycle about 15 of them at one go.

Ninomiya: It’s been a while since I slept so much. I think I’ve accumulated a lot of exhaustion from filming a drama and such, but when I woke up, I felt sleepy even when I was eating. I think I might have slept too much (laughter)

Falling Pipe:
-Jun once again pulled out his strategy of telling the person which pipes he chose...and then chose different pipes. XD Jun was really decisive too, saying "I'm done choosing! It's 1 and 2." So the guy went along with it. Of course, it was the pipes behind him that were dropped, and he managed a pretty decent catch, considering! Nino and the guys were telling him that his catch was actually pretty amazing, but he said he was shocked, and told the girls that Arashi could not be trusted. XD
-When Sho went up to catch, Ito-san was like, "It's been a while~" Sho started whining, "It has...I don't like this! I'm nervous~" After she chose the pipes, Sho analyzed the way her shoulders moved to try to figure out which pipes she'd chosen. He was really sure that 1 wasn't one of them (and he was right!). During the actual game, the girl said that she'd heard that even when Sho tries to hail a taxi, they won't stop for him. Sho confirmed this. XD And then he managed a double catch (only the second time he's done so, I believe) and earned himself a new high score! I was cracking up at how obviously pleased he was with himself.
-When the other girl went up to catch, during the game, Ohno asked her to do an impression, since she hasn't been doing them on TV lately. She managed to catch 100 points while doing so, which everyone said was impressive.
-As soon as Nino went up for pipe catch, he said that he already knew which pipes the guy was going to choose, so he was probably going to be able to manage a double catch. (The way he said it was kind of great. So cocky... XD) Then, after the guy chose the pipes, Nino mimicked the way he'd been moving around to figure out which pipes he'd chosen. Like Sho, he figured one that he was sure it wasn't and abandoned it, and, like Sho, managed a double catch. During the actual game, the guy said that he'd heard that Nino likes to wear pantyhose. Nino was like, "It's not that I like it, it's for a show and things just turn out like that..." The guy kept asking him about the pantyhose until he dropped the pipes. (Our boys are really famous for this, apparently... ^_^;;)
Rolling Coin Tower:
-Arashi decided to give the other team a handicap by trading their 10-point coins for the other team's 5-point coins. When the tower fell between Ohno and the girl, Ito-san asked the girl if she touched it or not. She said she didn't, and they showed the instant replay. I think she touched it but the bonus points went to the guest team.
Bank Bowling:
-At the beginning of the game, Ito-san commented on how the handicap had been really useful for the guest team. He agreed and then said, "Alright, so now it's time to ask for a handicap!" Arashi was like, um, no. Then the guy acted like he was about to send the show to commercial, saying "After this we'll find out if Arashi will give the handicap!" Sho was like, "No, no, don't go (to commercial)!" But then Sho finally said that they'd give them a handicap by letting all three of them bowl.
-When the second girl went up to bowl, she said that her highest score in bowling was 208. Sho was like, "You should've said that sooner!" Then the other two from the guest team that weren't playing started giggling amongst themselves. Sho was like, "They're SO ANNOYING!" The two from the guest team posed with the red pin to show that this was, in fact, all part of their evil scheme. After she bowled well, Jun was like, "I think we need to have three turns too!" So after briefly conversing, the guest team agreed to let it be a three-on-three match.
-As the guy went up to bowl, he went on and on about how he was about to bowl and such. After a while, Jun was like, "Stop it! It's too long!" The guy was like, "But everyone seems to be enjoying it..."
-You'll never guess how Arashi decided which three would go up to bowl. That's right...janken. The three who won (Nino, Aiba and Ohno) were taking their time, leisurely talking strategy. Nino said they were reading the lines (I'm assuming the ones on the floor?). When they seemed finished and stood up, Ito-san asked what the strategy was. Nino was like, "At any rate, I'll knock down the red pin...wait...what should I do?" After confirming with Aiba and Ohno, he said he'd knock down the red pin. He managed to do so, and knocked down all but 3 pins!
-When Aiba was up, he was asked if he had an image of his mind of what he was going to do. He said he definitely did, that he was going to follow the orange line. Jun sort of followed the line and was like, "Maybe a bit more this way (to the right). So Aiba was like, "Okay, so pink then!" Jun was like, "But wouldn't white be good?" Everyone was like, "White?!" Nino was like, "Search for the white line!" Jun was like, "But this is white, isn't it?" (Meaning the area between the colored lines, which is more of a beige color...) The guest guy was like, "What, bone white?" Nino then said to Aiba, "But in your heart, you want to go with pink, right?" So Aiba decided to go with pink. Jun was like "Hey!!"
-When Aiba bowled, he managed to score enough points to decide Arashi's victory. But after the game, Jun was like, "Aiba, Nino, can I talk to you? Why is Leader up there if there were only two people taking turns?" Ohno was like, "I wonder why!" and quickly came down.
In the part at the end, they asked Ohno how he felt about the game that day. He said the end was exciting, even though he didn't get to play. The members were all like, "Come play with us again sometime!" Treating him like a guest. XD
There was also an announcement saying that there will be a VS Arashi segment during 24 Hour TV. There was something else announced, but I didn't quite get it...some kind of event.

How are things on the set?
Very fun. Filming starts from morning and the hours are long but it doesn't feel that way at all, the time just flies by. The most fun is... when I'm with Shintaro. Shin-chan is really cheerful and he makes things enjoyable. We're always together. During meals, on location and when we move from location to location. We don't do anything in particular, it's just that we naturally end up together.
The producer has also said that Nakayama-san is a mysterious character, how does it feel to be called that?
I'm mysterious....? To be thought that way, I feel happy. To me, being called that is a compliment. My role in the drama requires me to be the silent type most of the time, there's a gap I think. Personally, I'm not the silent type at all (*laugh*)
How does it feel playing the role of a boy falling in love with an older woman?
I haven't personally experienced it but I'm glad I'm given the chance to do it, I think it's a good experience. An older woman, forbidden love, there are people who yearn for that but after watching this drama I want everyone else too, to feel a yearning, to be moved. For me personally... age doesn't matter when it comes to love.
What kind of vampire do you play?
The part I play, Ruka does not show his emotions on the surface but I think he is honest and pure. I think Ruka that way is good, it'd make me happy if he is admired. And he can teleport and has superhuman strength, makes you feel like trying out those powers if you can. The fantasy elements are fun.
The role has hardly any speaking parts in the beginning and in the later parts, he starts to change. It must be difficult.
Even without dialogues, when there's just facial expressions, I consult with the director every time. It must be a little different each time. I try my best to improve on making slight changes in expressions when I act. I practice while looking at the mirror but... it's embarrassing (*laugh*). I think the different expressions will appear once I start interacting with the cast members, I look forward to it.
How does it feel putting on the fangs?
I do feel some discomfort but when I look in the mirror, I approve (*laugh*). The tension goes up when you can do it realistically. I guess you can get used to fangs too. Like putting them on and wanting to show them off (*laugh*)
How is appearing together with your respected senpai, Kondo Masahiko-san?
Frankly, I thought he was scary. But he is easy to talk to and once in a while he says some amusing things. He says such things too...!? I felt that gap. My nervousness just unraveled, it was really surprising. He gave me acting advice too. In the credits, there's a scene of me using a cloak, I couldn't do it well so he adviced me on how to show off the cloak properly. Kondo-san can handle the cloak perfectly (*laugh*)!
Do you have a weakness to anything, like how a vampire is averse to certain things? Something that makes you go,"Stop right there!"
I hate insects! Recently, I've been really bad with them, when did I get so sensitive about it... (*sweats*)? Just thinking about it scares me. A while back, a black insect I've never seen before entered the house, it just swooped in. After that, I'm just no good with them...(*embarrassed grin*). Looking at like the rhinoceros beetle is fine, but if you ask me to touch them, no way. So please, don't prepare any insects (*laugh*)!
What scenes do you look forward to now?
Scenes where I have the fangs on. Kondo-san gave me advice on the fangs too. I want to be just like a vampire!
Besides the highlights of the drama, there's also your relationship with the family you're staying with.
In Shinjou (the Chinese restaurant), there are scenes where little bits of emotions appear, he becomes more human, Rika starts to change. I want everyone to see that. Captivated by the humans that he should hate... There'll be different kinds of connection I think. There are parts of him that are troubled, some heartrending. If I can show that, and move the viewers, that would make me happy. I want it to be a wonderful drama, please give your support♪

I really like this CM and how all of the NewS members are wearing white and carrying Pink/White Roses. I also like the way the Cm is happy bath day to you instead of happy birthday to you very creative.

Shining Imheritance episode 13
Boxing ring decided it for me: I’ll devote an entire post to Episode 13.
Haha, pulled your leg for a moment there, didn’t I? In such an important episode like this one, think I would be led (astray) by inconsequential things like sweaty abs and furrowed brows?
C’mon, you know me better than that. I did not take two dozen (or was it 30?) screencaps of Jun-se working out in the ring when this episode is all about…
HWAN’S EPIPHANY.
That’s right. Episode 13 is where our royal jerk finally experiences that moment of awakening that is going to turn his life around, making this my favorite episode yet. It’s powerful stuff, so get ready.
At the end of Episode 12, Grandma Jang drops the bombshell about her new will. Unknown to us, the invitation card to the bombshell party apparently also stipulates a dress code. It is only when Episode 13 begins that I realize everyone is clad in the same somber colors. No wonder a smile feels out of place here.
Lawyer Kim, who has replaced Lawyer Park (Jun-se’s multi-tasking dad), reads out the new will:
All of Jang Sook-ja’s assets, including company shares and property, will be inherited upon her death by Go Eun-sung. This is conditional on Go Eun-sung raising revenues in Jin Sung Food’s second seolleongtang branch by 20% in two months.
As expected, howls of protest greet the announcement.
A disbelieving Hwan accuses Eun-sung of being in cahoots with his grandma. But Eun-sung, with the calm of a person who has found a new life goal and will allow nothing to sway her, simply bows and says she will accept the inheritance with gratitude. She is then asked by Grandma to escort Lawyer Kim out of the room. The two of them exit center stage, leaving Grandma with four very unhappy people (three wastrels and one deposed lawyer).
As the recriminations fly, we see Grandma Jang at her most broken.
This company does not belong to me or to you, it belongs to my employees. I based my decision on the livelihoods of thousands of people. Do I leave my inheritance to my pampered grandchildren who will likely squander it away, or do I entrust it to someone who will ensure the company’s survival?
Your dad and I would have starved to death if not for the kindness of a lady who allowed me to peddle my rice cakes in front of her restaurant, who carried your dad on her back, who bequeathed her restaurant to me when she passed away. She, unrelated to us, reached out and helped me gain a foothold to begin what we now have today. She showed me what it means to change another person’s life.
I did not make my decision lightly. How could I, when I loved you all so much? If you asked me to pluck a star from the sky and turn it into soup for you, I would. That is how much I have loved you.
It’s not money I’m giving to Eun-sung, it’s my life’s principles. The ideals that established the company… I’m bequeathing them to her. She will continue what I have started, she will never sell the company. Until my death, you have a roof over your head and food to eat. When I’m gone, you’re on your own. Plan your lives accordingly.
What is sadder than Grandma’s words and tears?
The glaring fact that none of it is meaningful to her aggrieved daughter-in-law and grandchildren. All they know is that they’ve been robbed. That it is Grandma’s money, earned by her with zero contribution from them, is beside the point. They’re her kin so of course the money also belongs to them!
How their accusations must hurt her. It hurts as much as the memory of her dead Min-suk, as much as the realization that her cherished company will now pass into the hands of someone who was just a stranger mere weeks ago. Because let’s not kid ourselves here; there’s no joy in bequeathing her inheritance to someone other than her beloved Hwan. Doing that is simply acknowledging that he is useless and that she has failed to raise him well.
Hwan knows the implications of that public humiliation, of course. Earlier he had yelled in front of everyone: “Why must it be Eun-sung?!” It’s a question loaded with meaning.
Now he storms into the grandma’s room, demanding to know why he had to foolishly follow Eun-sung everywhere the last one month, from restaurant to factory, if the grandma had already decided to cut him out of her will.
Here is how she replies:
All I wanted was for my grandson to live well even after my death. I wanted you to observe Eun-sung, to learn from her. If you do not know what you’re supposed to learn from her, then obviously you have learned nothing at all.
His eyes filling with tears (Lee Seung-gi is riveting in this episode), Hwan yells back: Do you know what it’s like to follow the person who will take away my inheritance? DO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT HAS DONE TO ME?!!
Just like Grandma, we ponder the unspoken meaning behind Hwan’s words.
Why are you in tears, why are you so angry? What has happened to you as a result of following Eun-sung around? Is it your pride that is wounded, or is something else tormenting you? This girl living in your house and stealing your inheritance… Has she somehow crept into your heart, stolen it even? Hwan, what is happening to you?
But those aren’t questions that he can answer, not now.
It’s all still so bewildering to him, these conflicting feelings of disliking Eun-sung and yet missing her when she’s not around, of curiosity and guilt, of wanting to goad and also please her, to be a somebody in her eyes.
Unable to sort out his inner turmoil, he runs to the one who is the cause of it all.
(I wrote in my previous Brilliant Legacy recap that Hwan is growing on me and here’s another reason why. Whatever his flaws, this guy is an open book. If something bothers him, he wants to thrash it out, not keep it simmering inside. Isn’t that what every girl wants, a communicative boyfriend?)
Perhaps it’s the sight of her sitting quietly on the garden bench that stops him in his tracks. Perhaps it’s coming up from behind her and thus not needing to rearrange his expression to fit one who’s supposed to be at war. Whatever the reason, the look in his eyes is strangely soft and gentle. Then she looks up and of course the haughty veil comes back down and the accusations fly afresh.
Accusing her of dishonesty (pretending to be kind and virtuous when her real motive is to steal his inheritance), he lashes out:
Why are you making fun of me? Pretending to discipline me when it was all unnecessary. Saying you’ll accept the inheritance gratefully. Ha! You say it’s because of your situation? Fine, tell me what is that situation. Because I caused you to lose your brother? So now you want to take my inheritance away? Is that it? (She replies that it’s unimportant what he thinks of her. She will not reveal to him her reason for accepting the inheritance.) I still want to know. TELL ME!
I don’t want to over-analyze Hwan’s persistent questioning and ascribe wishful intent behind it because I believe he still isn’t fully aware of his own feelings. But I can’t help thinking that perhaps subconsciously the one reason above all else that he wants to hear from her is this: She wants the inheritance because of him. She’s doing it for him because… she cares.
Based on that (wild) conjecture, I can understand why he’s outraged when she replies that it’s because of money. (On the surface it may look like Eun-sung is fibbing, but she really isn’t. Without money, how can she win her battle with the witch?)
You say it’s because of money that you’re taking my inheritance? Because of money you caused me to lower my defenses. You… You changed me… and now you say it’s only for the money?
But don’t blame me, she retorts. You’re the one who drove Grandma into giving her inheritance away to an outsider. It’s your fault.
After all that spillage of tears and angry words, everyone is spent that night, everyone except Grandma (now back to her usual feisty self) and the butler whose culinary skills rise above all worldly strife (or thrive more because of it).
Eun-sung pokes at her food and is chided gently by Grandma who tells her that this is only the beginning, so quit looking so weary. Only the two are at the dining table, which must disappoint our butler chef. Jung and her mom have retired to their comfortable rooms to commiserate with their beds while Hwan sits on his and mulls, trying to make sense of the night’s events.
Grandma is right that the fun has just started. The next day the three wastrels stage a mutiny, refusing to go to work.
But Lawyer Park is at the office as usual, except today he will dispense with the niceties.
This is the angriest we have seen of Jun-se’s father. Not only did President Jang stab him in the back by engaging another lawyer and altering her will, she is reviving the second branch of the company that he had proposed selling. She is giving the company to Eun-sung which means he will be junior to a mere child! His dedication now perceived as unbridled ambition, everything he has done in the last twenty years for Jin Sung Food gone to nought!
Also at the head office is Eun-sung, there to receive instructions from the president. She bumps into Seung-mi as she’s leaving the office but ignores her.
Unknown to Seung-mi, Eun-sung has learned (easily from an online search, egads!) that her stepsister lied to her about the purchase of her apartment. Seung-mi and her mom aren’t as poor and pitiful as they have made themselves out to be.
Eun-sung’s curtness troubles Seung-mi and she alerts her mom. The witch is in a frenzy, trying to locate Eun-woo before his sister can, and aghast that her potential son-in-law might soon become as penniless as that husband of hers now wandering the streets.
Even as her stepmom is plotting more mischief, our Eun-sung is hard at work, checking out the company’s languishing second branch and meeting with her two closest friends, Hye-ri and Jun-se, to tell them about the inheritance.
Somehow this scene with Jun-se makes me really sad. The sweeter he is to her and the happier she is with him, the more bummed I am that they aren’t meant to be together. The fact that he is the first one she tells about this life-changing event speaks volumes of her trust in him. And see how astute he is, sensing that beneath her bright smiles is a burdened heart.
Brace yourself now, Jun-se, so that your pain won’t be as acute as what your fans fear it might become. Chin up, Jun-se!! (But psst, if being down means more trips to a certain boxing ring, then we absolutely do not mind.)
But this is a pivotal episode for Hwan, so let’s return to him.
After a sleepless night, Hwan marches into his grandma’s room (she’s at the office) and grabs the car keys. As he’s driving aimlessly, his mind keeps remembering the events of last night. He seems particularly hurt by the grandma’s words that he must fend for himself after her death; she is not making any provisions for him.
Let me reiterate how much I’m liking Lee Seung-gi’s acting in this episode. It’s controlled and finely balanced between rage and retrospection. He is still a work in progress, so we see the old Hwan who is ill-mannered and self-centered, but we also see more restraint. I love a thinking man and Hwan sure ruminates a lot in this episode. The entire time I was fixated on his eyes and did not once notice his hair!
(But Thundie does have a hair fetish, so guess whose coiffed glory deserves honorary mention?)
(The Good: Butler Pyo’s hair is weather-proof. The Bad: It reminds me of my mom’s hair whenever she has a wedding to attend. “Mom, not that awful hairdresser again!” The Weird: Whoever did our butler’s hair also worked on another character’s hair, resulting in a most uncanny resemblance. Keep reading.
Oops, sorry for that diversion. This recap has been so serious my laugh muscles need defrosting.)
Hwan’s aimless (and at times scarily reckless) driving takes him to a row of bars where he experiences his second public humiliation in as many days. He reverses into a car coming out of an alley, can pay only 70,000 won out of the 100,000 that the other driver asks for, and is scoffed at by the waiters who mistake him for a chauffeur.
The condescension stings, but Hwan reacts in a surprisingly mellow manner, not drawing anyone’s blood. Craving wine but unable to afford any, he makes his way to his friend’s bar. Yes, that wine bar where our Eun-woo is temping as cheap underaged labor: a pianist in return for a constant supply of hamburgers.
This makes for a tense minute or two because we know Seung-mi is coming to the bar to meet Hwan. Will she see Eun-woo?
Several episodes ago we wouldn’t have been worried because Seung-mi seemed to truly care for Eun-woo. But now that she has been infected by her mom’s poison, Seung-mi is unpredictable and there’s no telling what she will do to protect her mom and her own future with Hwan.
As usual in this drama (how about we rename it Brilliant Avoidances?), Seung-mi misses Eun-woo by a split second and he is safe for now. Phew.
Not as lucky are the shrubs along the street.
Hwan has drunk too much, so naturally some of it must come back up. He gets a drink, a hanky and a hug (in that order) from Seung-mi. (The two sure are touchy-feely, aren’t they? Which makes us wonder about Hwan’s feelings for her; ain’t nice to be stringing her along if you don’t love her, mister. May I add that my overly sharp powers of observation have noted a certain spark in Lee Seung-gi’s eyes whenever he’s in a scene with Moon Chae-won. Anyone else saw that? No? Okay, I erred.)
Seung-mi drives Hwan home. As he opens the gates into the sprawling garden, he is greeted by… SUSAN BOYLE!!
Seriously, I shrieked when I saw Grandma Jang’s hair. Good grief, how did the butler’s hairstylist morph our grandma into the above likeness?
It turns out Hwan is having a flashback (and this episode is chock-a-block with them) and remembering the day that Grandma had surprised them with the completed house. She had built it with an especially large lawn for Hwan’s future children (sorry, Jung, you be wedded off anyway; enjoy the garden while you can).
The memory of that long-ago day brings a slight smile to our Hwan’s face. Had they once been so happy and close-knit?
(Everyone’s hair, in an admirable attempt to convey youthfulness, is hysterical, except for Hwan’s. After 13 episodes I have accepted that his hairstyle will never change.)
Standing in that garden, gazing up at the house his grandma built for her grandchildren and great grandchildren, yesterday’s events must feel like a dream.
Would she really give all this away to Eun-sung and not to him? What had he done to deserve a treatment so implausible no one would believe it until its actual execution?
But soon Hwan learns it hasn’t been a bad dream, it is all real.
As he sits on the steps leading up to the house, his grandma and her faithful butler emerge at a garden table. (I love that porch. Great place to read!) It is dark and they have no idea Hwan is sitting nearby. What he overhears will cut him to the bone.
The seasons come and go, but when will our Hwan understand the true meaning of life?
Why did I decide to leave the company and everything else to Eun-sung? I thought Hwan would grow out of his ill temper but he is still the same, still full of anger and self-pity. His dad was the same way, but he eventually changed and understood the value of a person. I had hoped Hwan would change, too. But the moment he flung the money at the restaurant manager, I gave up on him. He’s beyond redemption.
If only he could be like Eun-sung, be even half of Eun-sung…
In the past he might have reacted to that damning condemnation with rage, but our Hwan is changing, even if Grandma thinks he is beyond hope. Thus he sits there unmoving, except for the tears that fall.
And soon our own tears fall, too, except they are of wonder. Because what follows is too delightful for words, a boxing match with only one boxer!
If you’re an avid kdrama viewer, I’m sure you’ll recognize scenes like the one we’re seeing.
You know, the ones which aren’t intrinsic to the plot or even to characterization. They exist simply because we have a writer and director who understand that prolonged watching (anything more than six episodes is long) leads to all kinds of pent-up feelings and that we need an outlet. We need to squeal.
Thus we have So Ji-sub swimming. Kwon Sang-woo bathing. Uhm Tae-woong changing. Bae Soo-bin boxing.
You get it now? Don’t ask any questions about the why. Just squeal as loudly as you can before writers and PDs decide to change tactics and give us So Ji-sub and company gazing into the distance fully-clothed. Like what Eric Mun did ad nauseam in the drama Phoenix.
Following that much-needed diversion in an episode heavy on angst, we return to Hwan.
What did he do after that indirect dressing-down? He goes to his room, studies his wardrobe, and decides whatever change he undergoes must first come from without. He will henceforth dress like a laborer, with a branded scarf (because branded is all he owns) passing off as a cheap towel around his neck. No wonder Grandma stares at him, too stunned to comment.
Give me another chance, Hwan tells Grandma. If you still regard me as your grandson, don’t give up on me. If you refuse, how can I lift my head as a man and go on living? If you still insist on giving everything to Eun-sung, fine. But send me to the second branch. I can’t do anything else.
(I know I should feel sorry for dear Hwan here, but all I can do is try to stifle my giggles. First, because he looks so un-Hwan. Second, because saying it’s the second branch or nothing simply gives away the fact that he’s missing someone. He could have picked the main office to be near Seung-mi, right? Or the main restaurant where he knows every tile, having personally mopped it. Why the second branch, Hwannie?)
Grandma caves in. (I knew the minute he used the “I’m your grandson” bargain chip that she would soften. Sneaky Hwan.) So, to Eun-sung’s horror, guess who should turn up at the second branch?
If Hwan manages to win Eun-sung’s heart (at this stage still harder than training toads to tap dance), I foresee this conversation on their honeymoon:
“Hwannie.”
“Yes, darling.”
“Remember the first few times you held my hand?”
“Hmm, not really. Why, baby?”
“I still have the marks you left on my wrists. Wanna see?”
If Hwan continues to manhandle Eun-sung or to talk rough with her, he can wave a honeymoon goodbye. He could have said, “You know, the two of us will be awesome managing Grandma’s company together. This could be a life-long partnership.” Instead he barks, “If you think I will allow you to take Grandma’s company away from me, you can forget it.”
Oh boy, oh boy. Looks like more fireworks ahead.
Also, a most juicy twist has just been introduced near the end of this episode.
To teach Grandma a lesson, Jung and her mom will pretend to move out in a huff, and they will pretend not to have anything more to do with Grandma unless she reverts to her old will. The wise butler warns them that it’s easy to move out but hard to move back and they reply, “Hoho, she’ll be begging for us to move back in the wink of an eye” or something to that effect.
But without money the two deluded wastrels can’t wait it out in a choice hotel, so guess who offers them a place to stay as long as they like?
I tell you, Episode 14 is going to be so good. I can’t wait!
